Lifescience.Club
Lifescience.club is a city-wise networking community for life science students, researchers & professionals setup by NGSF
Why Lifescience.Club?
Life science networking today is mostly limited to conference-style events—formal, expensive, and infrequent. While conferences are valuable, they do not solve everyday networking needs within a city.
At the same time, most cities already host:
- Multiple universities
- Research institutes
- Hospitals
- Startups and biotech companies
Yet students and researchers from these institutions rarely interact, despite working on similar problems just a few kilometers apart.
Lifescience.Club exists to change this.
The problem we are solving
Within the same city, life science communities are fragmented:
- Students don’t know researchers in nearby institutes
- Labs struggle to share knowledge, reagents, or equipment informally
- Young researchers lack access to mentors outside their own lab
- Networking feels stressful, formal, and transactional
We believe networking should feel natural, human, and frequent, not forced.
Our Approach: City-Wise, Informal & Community-Driven
Instead of large, formal conferences, Lifescience.Club focuses on:
- City-wise communities
- Small, informal events
- Regular interactions
- Low-pressure networking
Our goal is to create environments where conversations happen naturally—and collaborations emerge organically.
In-Person events (City level)
We organize informal, social-first events designed to make networking easy and enjoyable.
Examples of Lifescience.Club events:
- Game nights
- Movie nights
- Restaurant meetups
- Bowling evenings
- Day hikes & outdoor trips
- Coffee & casual discussion meetups
These events:
- Remove hierarchy and titles
- Encourage genuine conversations
- Help people connect beyond their lab or institute

Online concepts (Across cities & regions)
In addition to city-level meetups, we run two structured online formats to connect members beyond geography.
1. HyperConnect
Randomized online networking with breakout rooms
- Members from different cities or regions are matched randomly
- Small breakout rooms encourage focused interaction
- Ideal for discovering new people outside your immediate network
This works well at:
- Country level (e.g. Germany-wide)
- State level
- International community level
2. Guest Interaction Sessions
Direct access to experienced professionals
In these sessions:
- Senior researchers, industry professionals, or NGSF members join digitally
- Open Q&A format
- Honest discussions about:
- Career paths
- PhD & postdoc journeys
- Industry vs academia
- Transitions, failures, and lessons learned
Who is Lifescience.Club for?
- Life science students (Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD)
- Researchers & postdocs
- Early-career professionals in biotech & pharma
- Anyone curious about careers, research, or collaboration in life sciences
